​في إطار النشاط العلمي والبحثي لقسم الرياضيات والإحصاء بكلية العلوم، أقام القسم ندوة علمية (سمنار) بعنوان:

Exploring the Connection between Pillai's Theorem and the Variations of Prime Labelings

قدّمها سعادة الأستاذ الدكتور/ ماجد زكريا يوسف، وذلك صباح اليوم الأربعاء الموافق 1/10/2025 م في تمام الساعة 8:00 صباحاً بقاعة 079​-​2B بالكلية.

وقد تناولت الندوة العلمية:

In 1940, while trying to prove a conjecture state that the product of consecutive positive integers cannot be a perfect power, Pillai [1940] proved that every set of at most sixteen consecutive integers possess an integer which is relatively prime to all the rest. As in Sudhir R. Ghorpade and Samrith Ram [2010], we shall refer to this result as Pillai Theorem. Also, he proved that for a positive integer between 16 and 431, there exist infinitely many sets of consecutive positive integers which have not this property. That is which possess no integer that is relatively prime to the others and conjectured that this is true for every m≥17. On year later a prove for this conjecture was introduced by Brauer [1941] and independently by Pillai [1941] himself. In this talk we give the connections between Pillai's Theorem and its generalizations and the variations of prime labeling.

حيث استعرض الدكتور ماجد زكريا أبرز المحاور والنتائج ذات الصلة بالموضوع مقدماً طرحاً علمياً قيّماً أثار نقاشاً مثمراً بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب الحاضرين.

وتأتي هذه الندوة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية التي يحرص قسم الرياضيات والإحصاء على تنظيمها بشكل دوري وذلك في إطار تعزيز النشاط البحثي والأكاديمي بالقسم وحرصاً على إتاحة الفرصة للتفاعل العلمي وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين وطلاب الدراسات العليا بالقسم.
