The
Imam Mohamed Ben Saud Islamic University created a department specialized in
Islamic economics within the Riyadh College of Law in 1978. It was later
renamed the department of economics and administration sciences including three
branches: Economics, Business Management and Accounting in 2001. After the
completion of all the necessities of the department, the High consent was
issued in 2006 to change the department into an independent college named “The
college of Economics and Administration Sciences” that includes five scientific
departments: Economics, Business Management, Accounting, Finance and
Investment, and Banking. Then there was an agreement in 2012 to create a sixth
department in the college- the Insurance and Risk Management Department.
The
college has been growing larger and larger to reach more than 12,000 regular
students in the academic year 2015/2016., and to become one of the biggest
colleges in the university. The college has a teaching staff of more than 316
male and female members with different scientific ranks working in the
different scientific departments.
The
college moved to the new premises in the second term of the year 2014/2015,
which broadened the capacity to admit the great number of students and which
had a positive impact on the scientific process in the college and helped it
achieve its goals and develop its activities.
