Overview:
The Department of Translation at King Abdullah Institute for Translation and Arabization is one of the vital and key departments that aims to support translation and Arabization efforts in Saudi Arabia. The department plays a pivotal role in the transfer of knowledge and science from various languages to the Arabic language, as well as conveying Arabic culture and knowledge to the world through the translation of texts and contents into other languages.
Department Objectives:
- Enhancing academic and scientific translation to support the academic environment in Saudi Arabia and contribute to enriching Arabic libraries with reliable scientific sources and references.
- Providing high-quality translation services to government and private institutions, in order to achieve their goals of effective communication locally and internationally.
- Developing terminology and linguistic concepts in line with contemporary needs, through localization efforts and accurate translation of scientific and technical terms.
Tasks:
· Providing high-quality scientific translation services to all entities and beneficiaries.
·Translating documents, reports and administrative papers for the university.
· Building terminology databases for all scientific and knowledge disciplines.
· Developing and creating glossaries and dictionaries of technical terms for each specialized field, facilitating easier access for researchers.
· Assisting in supervising the training of students to prepare them for the job market.
· Managing translation projects.
· Participating in international translation projects and collaborative research.
