Introduction:

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's seventh development plan included clear perceptions of the position of information technology in national issues, and its objectives stipulated the preparation of a national plan and a future vision for investing information technology in the development of manpower and upgrading them to international levels to be able to deal with modern technologies, as the field of technology is one of the important areas in highlighting

Origin:

The decision of the Higher Education Council No. 29/05/1429 AH adopted in its fifty-first session held on 18/10/1429 AH was issued on the establishment of the "Deanship of Information Technology" Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), which culminated in the royal approval of the minutes of the session mentioned above by the Royal Decree under the number No. 963 / M / B dated 03/02/1430 AH and reported to the university by the letter of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education No. 335/A dated 08/02/1430 AH.

The Deanship of Information Technology is a relatively new institution, but despite this, it is responsible for overseeing the university's technical program in compliance with international quality standards, evaluation guidelines, and foundations. The Deanship has worked to develop operational plans for all technology projects at the university in alignment with the strategic plan for the institution's general projects and, with the grace of God Almighty, has accomplished a variety of noteworthy achievements.

Upgrading computer infrastructure at the university to support growth and development.
Upgrading the university's banner system to meet departmental demands.
Providing training to all university staff on using electronic communication systems and other systems.
Implement and broadcast free wireless Internet at universities.
Implementing technical development programs for academics, personnel, and university students.
The Deanship hosted the first-ever Information Technology Forum for Saudi Universities: Challenges and Expectations, under the patronage of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
Creating, setting up, and carrying out the project for mobile applications that will integrate all university systems and benefit staff, students, and community service.

The Deanship of Information Technology currently maintains a record of its accomplishments. May Allah grant us all success and continuous excellence in our endeavors to fulfill the objectives of this wonderful university. Additionally, may God be praised, along with blessings and peace bestowed upon the messenger, his family, and his companions.

In accordance with Saudi Arabia's strategies for implementing e-government in all deanships of public universities, the goal of the Deanship of Information Technology and E-Learning is to enhance the services offered by the university and create an environment of superior electronic services based on information and communication technology.

It will implement innovative and secure technology systems, policies, and practices, provide dependable technical support to the Imam University community, and provide the leadership needed to advance the role of information technology in achieving Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University 's strategic goals.
