Deanship at a Glance

As per the directive of His Excellency the Rector of the University, in his letter No. 5114/1, dated 22/7/1428 AH, based on the approval of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, the Vice Rectorate for Studies, Development and Academic Accreditation has commenced its work and tasks under this name in accordance with the approved administrative organization at the time.

In the year 1428 AH, the units affiliated to the Vice Rectorate were identified in the University Rector's attached letter No. 5174/1, dated 24/7/1428 AH, where the following units were affiliated to the Vice Rectorate:

Deanship of Quality and assessment.
Deanship of Faculty Affairs.
Deanship of Institute Affairs Adored.
General Department of Planning, Budget and Follow-up
General Administration for Studies and Information
General Department of Public Relations
King Abdullah Center for Contemporary Islamic Studies and Dialogue of Civilizations.
General center for documents.

Through this transformation, the Vice Rectorate has sought to consolidate the university's mission towards achieving high quality in all educational, research and administrative practices by conducting work in accordance with the university's planned goals and strategies. In the year 1433 AH, the most qualitative and focused change occurred regarding the implementation of the appropriate tasks; the name of the Vice Rectorate was changed to become the University's Vice Rectorate for Planning, Development and Quality. As a result, its affiliated bodies were reidentified so that they included the following:
Deanship of Quality and assessment.
Deanship of University Education Development and Administrative Development
King Abdullah Institute for Translation and Arabization.
Deanship of Voluntary Work Studies.
Intellectual Awareness Unit.

Then the new organizational structure of the university was issued in 1445 AH, which was approved in conjunction with the inauguration of the new identity of the university. The Vice Rectorate has become more focused in its objectives and tasks, and its affiliates bodies have become to date the following:

Deanship of Development and Quality.
Deanship of Information Technology and E-Learning.
Center for Studies and Information.
Skills Development Center.
Documents and Archives Center.
General Administration of Strategic Planning.
General Administration of Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Service.
General Administration of King Abdullah City for Female Students.
Risk Management, Emergency, and Business Continuity Management.

The University Agency for Institutional Development and Corporate Social Responsibility seeks to actively contribute to achieving the university's mission of providing a stimulating environment, robust administrative systems, advanced technology, sustainable resources, and effective partnerships. This is aimed at achieving competitive outcomes that meet the needs of the job market, contribute to building the knowledge economy, and serve the local and global community. To this end, the agency undertakes tasks and responsibilities within its mandate in institutional developmental work based on principles of quality and its standards in academic, research, and administrative fields. It supports the technological infrastructure, electronic tools, and services in line with national initiatives to enhance the concept of e-government. Additionally, it enhances the university's role in the community and its national responsibility towards the local and international society.

The agency also places high importance on improving university outcomes through sustainable training and professional development programs, as well as conducting studies and reports using methodological approaches to monitor, analyze, and utilize data in decision-making and sustainable improvement processes. These directions are consistent with the efforts of university agencies, administrative, and academic units to achieve the university's aspirations and goals for institutional development. Overall, these efforts align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, under the significant support of the education sector during the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, may Allah protect them, to advance higher education and elevate it to advanced levels in global rankings and international standards.

Formulating the university's strategic plans, following up on their implementation, measuring their performance, and evaluating and developing them to achieve the aspirations of the university and keep pace with local and international changes.
Developing the university's organizational structure and its administrative and educational units in order to support its institutional excellence.
Promoting the quality of institutional and programmatic performance in all activities and fields of work of the university.
Building a measurement and evaluation system to achieve a distinctive performance for the university and its academic and administrative programs and units.

Enhancing the intellectual image of the university and raising the level of its classification locally and internationally.
Developing the university's information technology system in a way that contributes to raising the performance, the speed of completion, streamlining of procedures, and the ease of accessing data.

Developing the data, documentation and archival systems at the university.
Supervising capacity building and skills development of the academic and administrative staff at the university.
