The General Administration of University Safety and Security celebrates World Civil Defense Day 2022, held under the slogan "Human Safety: Building and Growth."

On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, His Excellency the Vice President of the University, Dr. Mansour Al-Haidari, inaugurated an exhibition by the General Administration of Safety and University Security at the University Administration Building (402) to celebrate World Civil Defense Day 2022, held under the slogan "Human Safety is Building and Growth," which is commemorated on March 1 each year.

His Excellency toured the exhibition and listened to a detailed explanation about the safety devices on display, how to use them, and the procedures for firefighting, rescue, and evacuation in case of emergencies, God forbid.

The Director General of the administration, Mr. Sultan bin Hussein Al-Buqami, confirmed that the exhibition included many safety measures aimed at conveying messages about safety, instructions, and reminders of the importance of combating all kinds of disasters. He noted that the world celebrates this day every year in recognition of the tremendous and continuous efforts made by civil defense agencies to maintain the safety and security of human communities from the dangers of both natural and human-made disasters, as well as to mitigate the tragic effects that result from them to preserve lives and property.

Mr. Al-Buqmi also emphasized that enhancing safety and preventing risks is a shared responsibility that everyone must uphold and should work towards achieving and instilling this concept as part of daily human behavior. He noted that the administration organizes these exhibitions out of a commitment to raise awareness among students and all university staff about this global day and its significance while highlighting the importance of safety measures and ways to warn against risks, reinforcing correct concepts, and raising awareness to meet the highest standards and safety requirements at the university.

It is worth noting that the administration, represented by the Women's Security Department, held a similar exhibition at King Abdullah City for Female Students in Building 416 to raise awareness among female students and staff, and these exhibitions received a great turnout.

For his part, the esteemed Deputy President of the University appreciated the vital role of the administration in celebrating the event and the interaction they had, as well as their significant contributions to ensuring safety and raising awareness about risks.

In conclusion, the Director General of the administration expressed his thanks and appreciation to the esteemed Deputy President of the University for his attendance and to the staff members participating in the event.
