The General Administration for Safety and University Security celebrated World Civil Defense Day 2023, held under the theme "Safety is a Goal and Prevention" on March 1, 2023. The event was launched by the esteemed Vice President of the University, Dr. Mansour Al-Haidari, at the University Administration Building (402) with the participation of the General Directorate of Civil Defense, represented by the Northern Riyadh Division.

During the event, Dr. Al-Haidari toured the exhibition and listened to detailed explanations about the safety devices on display, their usage, and the mechanisms of firefighting, rescue, and evacuation in emergencies.

General Director of the Administration, Mr. Sultan bin Hussein Al-Buqmi, stated that the exhibition included numerous safety tools aimed at conveying safety messages, and instructions, and reminding everyone of the importance of disaster prevention in all its forms. He emphasized that the world celebrates this day every year as a recognition of the tremendous and continuous efforts made by civil defense agencies to maintain the security and safety of human communities from the dangers of both natural and human-made disasters, minimizing the tragic effects they cause to protect lives and property.

Mr. Al-Buqmi also mentioned that enhancing safety and prevention from risks is a shared responsibility that everyone must take on, and all working together to achieve and instill its concepts as part of daily human behavior.

He also noted that the administration organizes these exhibitions in line with its duty to raise awareness among students and university staff about the significance of this global day, alongside highlighting the importance of safety tools and warning against risks by establishing correct concepts, thereby elevating the awareness level of achieving the highest standards and safety requirements within the university. The exhibition attracted a large turnout.

For his part, the esteemed Vice President of the University praised the vital role of the administration in honoring the event and their significant contributions to achieving safety and raising awareness about risks.
