The General Administration for Security and Safety participated in the "Saudi and International Volunteering Day 2024" exhibition, which was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amri, the university president, on Sunday, December 8, 2024. The exhibition was held in the university's main hall under the title "Giving Society" as part of the Deanship of Student Affairs activities.
The exhibition coincides with the International Day of Volunteering, which aims to promote and encourage a culture of voluntary work in building a cohesive society and contributing to the national economy, which is a hallmark of vital communities in activating community energies and enriching the homeland with the achievements of its children and their efforts.
The Director General of the General Administration for Security and Safety, Mr. Sultan bin Hussain Al-Buqmi, stated that the administration participated in the exhibition to showcase its achievements in voluntary work, including the number of volunteer opportunities available in the administration, the number of volunteers, statistics on completed hours, and economic returns.
It is worth noting that the General Administration for Security and Safety has achieved second place in the highest number of volunteer hours among the departments, colleges, and administrations participating in voluntary work during 2024. Mr. Al-Buqmi explained that the volunteer hours reached 49,164 hours, with 988 volunteers, and 35 volunteer opportunities, with an economic return of 22,700.
In conclusion, to His Excellency's tour of the exhibition stands; he honored the General Administration for Security and Safety for achieving second place, as well as the employees of the administration who supervised volunteer activities in the administration during the year.
