As part of the events organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, with the participation of various university entities on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2024, under the generous patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amri, the university president. The General Administration for Security and Safety organized a booth in the main hall of the university on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. This event is part of the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, held under the theme "Empowerment for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future."
The Director General of the General Administration for Security and Safety, Mr. Sultan bin Hussain Al-Buqmi, confirmed that the administration is diligently working within its authority to serve persons with disabilities among the university staff as well as male and female students. Aiming to enhance its role in providing supportive social services to them, through empowering and integrating them into the community.
Mr. Al-Buqmi also explained that the administration participated with a booth to highlight its role in serving persons with disabilities by designating special parking spots near their workplaces and preventing others from parking in those spots. This initiative aims to create an environment that improves the quality of services provided to them and offers all the necessary facilities that enable them to access their workplaces with ease and comfort.
Furthermore, Mr. Al-Buqmi noted that the administration has allocated 241 parking spots for persons with disabilities, distributed across educational colleges, the King Abdullah City for Female Students, student housing, faculty housing, the medical center, and the College of Medicine.
He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the collaborating entities that support the administration in serving this precious segment of the community.
