The General Administration for University Safety and Security organizes an awareness exhibition to celebrate World Civil Defense Day 2023, held under the slogan "Safety is a Goal and Prevention."
On Thursday, March 2, 2023, the General Administration for University Safety and Security, represented by the Women's Security Unit, organized an awareness exhibition at King Abdullah City for Female Students in Administrative Building 416 to celebrate World Civil Defense Day 2023, which is observed on the first of March every year.
The exhibition targeted students and staff of the city and included detailed explanations of the safety devices on display and how to use them, as well as procedures for firefighting, rescue, and evacuation in emergencies—God forbid. The exhibition received a significant turnout from students and staff.
In this regard, the Director General of the Administration, Mr. Sultan bin Hussein Al-Buqmi, confirmed that the exhibition included many safety tools to convey safety messages and provide instructions, emphasizing the importance of disaster prevention in all its forms. He noted that the world celebrates this day every year in recognition of the tremendous and continuous efforts made by civil defense agencies to maintain the safety and security of human communities from the dangers of natural and manufactured disasters, and to mitigate the tragic consequences that result to protect lives and property.
Mr. Al-Buqmi also pointed out that enhancing safety and preventing risks is a shared responsibility that everyone must undertake, and that it is an objective that all should work together to achieve and instill as part of daily human behavior.
He emphasized that the administration holds these exhibitions in the belief of its duty to educate all university staff, students, and faculty about World Civil Defense Day. And its importance while highlighting the significance of safety tools and methods and warning against risks by instilling correct concepts and raising awareness to achieve the university's highest safety standards and requirements.
In conclusion, Mr. Al-Buqmi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to those in attendance and the staff members who participated in the event.
