The General Administration of Security and Safety inaugurated an exhibition on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the administrative building in King Abdullah City for Female Students, celebrating World Civil Defense Day 2024, held under the slogan "With Technology, We Strive to Protect You," which falls on the first of March each year.
The Director General of the administration, Mr. Sultan bin Hussein Al-Buqmi, confirmed that the exhibition included various safety tools aimed at conveying safety messages, instructions, and reminders of the importance of disaster prevention in all its forms. He noted that the world celebrates this day every year in appreciation of the tremendous and ongoing efforts of civil defense agencies to maintain the security and safety of communities from the dangers of natural and human-made disasters, as well as to mitigate the tragic effects that arise from them, ultimately preserving the safety of lives and property.
Mr. Al-Buqmi also mentioned that enhancing safety and preventing risks is a shared concept that everyone is responsible for, and all work together to achieve and promote it, instilling its principles as part of daily human behavior.
He emphasized that the administration organizes these exhibitions in recognition of its duty to raise awareness among students and all university staff about this important global day, as well as to highlight safety measures and warn against risks by instilling correct concepts and raising awareness to achieve the highest safety standards and requirements at the university. The exhibition witnessed a large turnout.
Mr. Al-Buqmi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the security personnel who participated in the event and to all attendees.
