On Sunday, March 3, 2024, the General Administration of Security and Safety launched an exhibition in the educational region to celebrate World Civil Defense Day 2024, held under the slogan "With Technology, We Strive to Protect You," which is observed on 1 March each year.

The Director General of the Administration, Mr. Sultan bin Hussein Al-Buqmi, stated that the exhibition included many safety tools aimed at delivering safety messages, guidelines, and reminders about the importance of combating all types of disasters. He emphasized that the world celebrates this day annually in recognition of the significant and ongoing efforts made by civil defense agencies to maintain the safety and security of human communities from the dangers of natural and fabricated disasters and to mitigate the tragic effects resulting from them to protect lives and property.

Mr. Al-Buqmi also pointed out that promoting safety and risk prevention is a shared responsibility that everyone must bear, and that all parties are working towards achieving and instilling these concepts as part of daily human behavior.

He noted that the Administration holds these exhibitions in the belief of its duty to educate students, faculty, and all university staff about the importance of this world day, alongside highlighting safety measures and warning against risks by establishing correct concepts and raising awareness to meet the highest standards and safety requirements at the university. The exhibition received a large turnout.

Mr. Al-Buqmi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the security personnel participating in the event and to all attendees.
