Introduction:
First,
let me start by thanking God and wishing God’s blessing and peace be upon His Chosen
Prophet delegated to guide the world to the right path.
The
interest in the colleges of economics and business has been growing locally and
internationally due to the important role that the world of finance and
business plays in the economic development of countries and the advancement of
different societies. For these reasons, the university has considered
responding to those interests and needs, and founded those colleges including
the college of economics and administration sciences in 2006.
The
college has now become one of the largest colleges in the university with more
than 12,000 male and female students enrolled in the six scientific
departments. The college deanship therefore felt the burden of responsibility
and the need to persevere in the work started by the subsequent
administrations. Indeed, the present administration has become aware that the
development is not a choice but rather an urgent necessity to fit the growth of
the college and the increasing interest in the college and in its output.
This
awareness incited the college to start the restructuration of some units and
the reactivation of others as well as the formation of a number of committees
in the year 2015/2016. The aim was to achieve the
college’s inspired expansion and progress that fits the reputation of the
university as one of the most prominent local universities.
The
challenge involved going through the necessary formalities to obtain academic
recognition. It also involved the restructuration of the research unit, the
reorganization of committees, the activation of academic tutoring and of
students’ events and activities.
In
the end, I would like to thank his Excellency, the president of the university, Prof. Ahmed Alaameri who has effectively contributed to the
success the college has reached and who has never spared any effort to support
the college ever since its foundation.
The
College Dean:
Dr. Khaled Al-Shuwairekh
