On 25th February 2024, student delegations from 18 universities from various Gulf countries participated in the “9th cultural and scientific week for universities and higher education institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)". The event was hosted by Qatar University under the slogan “Towards a Promising Gulf Knowledge Economy".
The students from the College of Engineering at IMSIU achieved first and second positions in the Scientific Innovation Competition that was part of event.
The students from the Department of Electrical Engineering (IMSIU), Walid Al-Mutairi and Musaed Al-Shahrani, achieved first place for the best application in artificial intelligence. The project was supervised by Dr. Hassan Farah.
Another group of students from the Electrical Engineering department (IMSIU), Musab Al-Dosari and Faisal Al-Otaibi secured 2nd position for their project that serves smart cities. The project was supervised by Dr. Suleiman Al-Sawyan.
