About the department: 

The Department of Sociology and Social Service was established in its early days in the College of Arabic Language and Social Sciences under the name of the Department of Behavioral Sciences in the academic year 1395/1396 AH. It included the three specializations of Sociology, Education, and Psychology. In the academic year 1396/1397 AH, the name of the department was changed to the Department of Sociology and Psychology. The study in the department was shared between the two sciences. Then, in the last two years (third and fourth) (according to the annual system consisting of four years), the study branched out and specialization began: the Department of Sociology and the Department of Psychology. In the academic year 1398/1399 AH, it was decided that the college would begin graduating students specializing in psychological and social studies.
