Central Unit for Training and Professional Development
The Central Unit for Training and Professional Development is the unit responsible for preparing, implementing and following up on training and development plans for faculty and staff at the college level.
Unit tasks
- Participate in preparing the college’s annual plan.
- Building and developing data and information collection tools periodically.
- Identifying training needs in cooperation with training and development units in academic departments according to faculty and staff evaluation reports issued by the Development and Quality Unit.
- Coordination with the relevant authorities at the university (Skills Development Center, Scholarship and Training Unit in the General Administration of Human Resources, Deanship of Development and Quality) to provide the necessary training courses for faculty and staff at the college.
- Coordinating with the relevant authorities at the university to provide the logistical requirements and supplies for implementing training courses and programs (halls, hospitality, technical equipment, etc.)
- Preparing and implementing orientation programs for new faculty members of the college, coordinating with relevant authorities, and issuing annual reports.
- Coordinating with the Dean of the College regarding financial matters necessary to meet the unit’s needs.
- Preparing executive plans for training and development at the college level in cooperation with the corresponding units in the scientific departments.
- Coordinating with departments to identify candidates to attend workshops and training courses outside the college according to criteria approved by the College Council.
- Follow up on the implementation of operational plans for training and professional development by the corresponding units in the scientific departments.
- Determine the courses, programs and training staff expected to participate in coordination with the relevant units at the university.
- Preparing periodic reports on the progress of the implementation plan targets.
- Follow up on the implementation of training courses and programs at the college level.
- Studying the obstacles and problems of application received from the academic departments, and proposing appropriate solutions for them in coordination with the Dean of the College.
- Coordinating with training and development units in academic departments to document programs and collect evidence and proof at the college level.
- Preparing tools to evaluate training and professional development activities.
- Measuring the impact of training and the returns of activities implemented for college members.
- Collecting and analyzing reports of training and development units in departments and preparing the final report on activities implemented at the college level.
- Preparing an improvement plan in light of the recommendations received from the training and professional development units in the departments.
- Disseminating the culture of professional development and continuing education and its impact on quality in the college, in coordination with the relevant units.
