Achievements of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics

Academic Year 2025-2026


  1. The mathematics discipline achieved a new global milestone, registering a distinguished presence among the top 400 disciplines globally in the QS subject rankings, achieving a ranking of (301-350 globally) for disciplines in 2025.
  2. The mathematics discipline achieved a new global milestone, registering a distinguished presence among the top 400 disciplines globally in the Q Shanghai World Classification (ARWU2025), achieving a ranking of (301-400 globally) for disciplines in 2025.
  3. Renewal of the appointment of His Excellency Dr. Salem bin Ali Al-Yami, Professor in the Department, as Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research at the University.
  4. Signing a memorandum of understanding with the General Authority for Statistics, on World Statistics Day, to enhance cooperation in statistical and scientific fields.
  5. Five faculty members in the department were ranked among the top 2% of the world's most distinguished and influential scientists, according to Stanford's 2025 ranking of scientists.
  6. Graduating 925 (324 males and 591 females) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics since the beginning of the program.
  7. Graduating 42 (2 males and 40 females) with a Master of Science degree in Mathematics since the beginning of the program.
  8. Six faculty members in the department were promoted to the rank of associate professor.
  9. Eight faculty members were promoted to the rank of professor.
  10. Six distinguished faculty members joined the department (2 professors, 2 associate professors, 2 assistant professors).
  11. Organizing 18 seminars and scientific lectures during the current academic year.
  12. Organizing 4 competitions as part of the department's sports activities during the current academic year.
  13. Organizing 4 conferences on academic advising for students enrolled in the department during the current academic year.
  14. Holding 6 celebrations for national occasions, public and social services during the current academic year.
  15. Holding 11 training courses, training programs and workshops for department staff and students during the current academic year.
  16. The department conducted one training course to serve the local community during the current academic year.
  17. 10 members of the department participated in international scientific conferences.
  18. Nine faculty members from the department were honored for their research excellence at the college and university levels.
  19. Won 5 scientific awards within the Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Award for Excellence (scientific research, translation, quality).
  20. The number of research papers published by faculty members of the department in peer-reviewed scientific journals within the Basic Sciences Network reached approximately 758 papers.​
