Approval of the formation of department committees:

The formation of the committees of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics for the academic year 1444 H was approved by the department Council at its first session held on 27/01/1444 H (Resolution No. 05/01).


Purpose of Committees formation:

  • Strengthen the affiliation of the department among its faculty members through the participation of everyone in decision-making.
  • Facilitating the department Council in making the appropriate decision on the topics raised in the council, where the competent committee studies the topic in all its merits before presenting it to the council and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Spreading the spirit of initiative and competition among the members through their contribution to the development of performance within the department and proposing ideas that contribute to this.

General tasks of the chairmen's Committees:

  • Determine the appropriate and special content for the committee to publish it via the Department's website.
  • Provide the department with the work plan of the committee and the work that it will carry out during each semester.
  • Taking all the recommendations of the committee in coordination and participation among the members.
  • After each meeting of the committee, the head of the department is presented with a minutes of the meeting (signed) from the members of the committee within a week from its date.
  • Submit a report on the progress of the committee's work and its achievements at the end of the semester to the head Department.

Advisory Committee

Objectives and tasks of the committee:​

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of academic programs in the department and raise the level of students cognitively and professionally.
  • Contribute to the formulation of general specifications for graduates and update them according to economic, knowledge and professional developments in order to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030 in the field of Higher Education.
  • Discuss the extent to which the graduate has acquired the learning outcomes specified in the program description, and review ways to develop the program and its decisions based on the available data.
  • Develop mechanisms of communication with labor markets and recruiters in order to identify their current and future needs and collect opinions on the degree of possession of the graduate of the required specifications that enable him to engage in the labor market and contribute to development.
  • Discuss the annual report of the academic program to identify the strengths and weaknesses and work to overcome difficulties and achieve the desired goals.
  • Raise the level of graduates and their efficiency through the development of field training programs through the committee's role as a link between the student and the relevant institutions and scientific centers and contribute to the development of training and educational programs, courses and workshops and facilitate the mechanisms of students' participation in them.

2​Posrgraduate Studies Committee
  • Preparing and supervising the admission test for the master's program, identifying the appropriate references and submitting them to the head of the Department.
  • Correction of the admission test for the master's program and identification of those admitted to it.
  • Preparing the schedules of faculty members for the courses of the master's program in coordination with the head of the department and setting a mechanism for determining elective courses and graduation projects.
  • Receiving the proposed graduation projects from the faculty members and presenting them to the department Council to determine the appropriate ones for students.
  • Distribution of graduation projects to students according to the student's passing of elective courses.
  • Monitoring the grades of graduate students.​
