Department of Biology attends workshop titled: “Electron Microscopy and Related Techniques”

The Department of Biology was invited by the Chair of Research on Vaccines of Infectious Diseases at King Saud University to attend a workshop titled: "Electron Microscopy and Related Techniques". The workshop was presented by Dr. Margit Semmler, Head of the Electron Microscopy Unit, Department of Biochemistry, Diabetes Research Institute, Düsseldorf University, Germany.

The researcher explained the history of the development of the microscope, as well as the explanation of the operation mechanism of the optical microscope and electronic microscope. The central laboratory at King Saud University was also visited.

The department was represented by faculty and a number of female students in order to develop students' awareness and enrich their knowledge. The workshop was much appreciated by the students.
