Department of Physics continues series of academic seminars with a Dr. Najla Abdel‘al seminar

The Department of Physics - female section - organized the second seminar of the second semester of the academic year 1437/1438 H. The seminar was titled: "The Properties of Magnetic Materials and its Applications".

The seminar was presented by Dr. Najla Abdel'al. On Wednesday 15 Rajab 1438 AH, corresponding to 13 April 2017, at 09:15 AM, for half an hour. The seminar was followed by a discussion and questions from the audience.

The introduction to the seminar started with a presentation of the properties of magnetic materials, particularly magnetic nanoparticles. Then the importance of applications, especially in the field of Nanotechnology, and the possibility of controlling the change in the properties of these nanoparticles by the magnetic field were discussed. This discussion revolved around a number of points in which several faculty members participated. It also covered the types of magnetic materials, the study of the magnetic field effect as well as the temperature on their properties and how to change the magnetism of the materials, especially the magnetic materials when applying a magnetic field, and the effect of temperature on changing the characteristics of magnetic materials (Curie temperature). This seminar is part of a series of periodic seminars organized by the Department of Physics - Female section - and presented by faculty in the department. The coordinator of the department Merfat Al-Zumai' oversees these seminar series. The aim of these seminars is to stimulate the academic research atmosphere in the department and to keep the department staff updated on the latest findings of the physical sciences in various fields.

It is worth mentioning that all university staff including faculty members, employees, and students are allowed to attend these seminars.

The Department of Physics sends its best regards.
