The third seminar of the second semester at the Department of Physics presented by Prof. Salah Ahmed Makhlof

The Scientific Committee of the Department of Physics organized the ninth seminar of the academic year 1437/1438 AH. The seminar was titled: "Antiferromagnetic Nanoparticles and its Technological Applications".

It was presented by Prof. Salah Ahmed Makhlof, professor of physics, on Tuesday 29 Jumada Al-Thany 1438 AH, corresponding to 28 March 2017, at 9:45 AM, and lasted for half an hour. The presentation was followed by a discussion and questions from the audience.

The speaker started the seminar by giving an idea of nanoparticles with antimagneticism. He then discussed how these materials are manufactured using chemical methods and how the size of these nanoparticles contributes to improving the performance of several devices. The discussion covered several points in which a number of faculty and students participated. The discussion included the phenomena of matter and how particle size and temperature affect the magnetic properties of the matter.

The seminar is part of a series of bimonthly seminars organized by the scientific committee in the Department of Physics and presented by faculty of the department and researchers from other sectors. The series of seminars is supervised by the head of the Scientific Committee of the department Dr. Ra'id Al-Hathlool. It is, coordinated and directed by  Dr. Jaber Al-Ghool, member of the Scientific Committee. The Scientific Committee thanked the vice head of the department Ms. Mervat Al-Zumay' for her collaboration in the distinctive designs of the banners of the seminars and praised her efforts in this regard.

The aims of these seminars are to stimulate the scientific research atmosphere in the department and to keep its staff informed about the latest findings of physical sciences in various fields.

It is worth mentioning that all university staff including faculty members, employees, and students are allowed to attend these seminars.
