Under the sponsorship of His Royal Highness Prince Faiṣal ibn Bander ibn 'Abdulaziz, the governor of Riyadh Province, and His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman ibn Abdullah Aba Al-Khail, the rector of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, An exhibition entitled "The Productive University .... Production and Expectations" was held on Sunday morning 19 Feb 2017 for three days established by the university investment fund and indigenous resources 'Ethmar' with the attendance of their excellencies, deans, vice-deans, guests of honor, some innovators, entrepreneurs, relevant investors, government and private universities, funders, incubators for innovation interested in buying it, scientific investment companies, and a selection of private companies.                                                                    

Under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad ibn Muḥsin Babṭain, the dean of the college, and Dr. Rā'id ibn Hussain Al-Hathlool, the director of the Research Centre; the College of Science had a distinguished participation with faculty and students research projects in different scientific fields.                                                                                                 

The ward of the college includes a wide range of scientific research participations and graduation projects in accordance with the sustainable development of 2030 vision in expanding the scientific and cultural prospects for individuals to meet the needs of the labor market and the national development.                                      

Some of the most significant participations of the college were:                       

1- Professor Dr. Las'ad Al-Meer – the Department of Physics: "Synthesis and technological applications of aerogel nanoparticles".

2- Dr. Moḥammad Abdullah Al-Ameen – the Department of Physics: "The Use of the Generated Heat Emitted from the Magnetic Particles to Stop or Slow Down the Growth of Cancerous Cells".

3- Dr. Walyīd Dā'ūsh and the student Khalaf Al-Rashīdi - Chemistry Department: "Preparation of Ultrafine Metallic Materials by Chemical Reduction in Aqueous Solution".

4-Dr. Ghalya Al-Ḥamzi – the Department of Math and Statistics: "Homotopy Deformation and Itô Calculus".

5- Maryam Al-Qadhaybī and Afnān Al-Salman, Graduates, the Department of Physics: "Calibration of Radiation Protection Contamination Meters".

6-Dr. 'Eman Al-Saiyed Shahatah and the students Samiah Al-Otaibi and Huda Al-Mughaylīth - Chemistry Department:  "Analysis of Aspirin Using Different Methods" .

7- Najla Al-`Otaibi, graduate, the Department of Physics: "Simplifying Knowledge and Science for Down Syndrome Children".

8- The Vice Deanery of the College of Science for Quality and Development (former): "Strategic Plan, Student Guide, Analysis for the Employment Survey, Pamphlets of the Scientific Sections, Job Description".

9- Maram Al-Furaiji, a graduate, the Department of Physics: "Effect of sp – d, sp – f Interactions on Physical Properties of In2O3 Thin Films".

Holding such exhibitions provides a fertile environment for direct communication with researchers and innovators in the field. The exhibition was held over two periods: morning and evening. The evening period was for females and families. Many visitors, some of them are faculty members in Saudi universities and others are from government and private institutions, attended the ward of the College of Science at Al Imam University - female students section - under the supervision of Dr. Ghalyah Al-Hamzi, a member and a representative of the Research Center in the College of Science - female section. The ward exhibited a distinctive collection of scientific posters. This exhibition provided the participants with the opportunity to develop their research skills and promote scientific communication and cultural exchange. The distinctive research works of the participants were presented to the visitors and the evaluation committee. A certificate of appreciation was given to all the participants with best wishes for good luck for their valuable contribution and opportunities have been made available for them to expand their research. 

           

As mentioned in the previous report, His Excellency, professor Dr. Sulaiman ibn Abdullah Aba Al-Khail, rector of Al-Imam university, visited the ward of the College of Science at the Exhibition of the Productive University. His Excellency was greeted by Dr. Mohammad ibn Muhsin Babtain, the dean of the college; H.E. Dr. Ra'id ibn Hussain Al-Hathlool, the director of the Research Center at the college; and Professor Las'ad Al-Meer from the Department of Physics. His Excellency the rector praised the efforts of the college in scientific research and emphasized the importance of connecting scientific research with the industry and the private sector in order to enhance the concept of the productive university, knowledge economy, and turning scientific research into tangible products.
