Visit of the Department of Math and Statistics to King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology


A student delegation paid an official visit to King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology under the organization and supervision of the Department of Math and Statistics on Monday 20/2/2017. The delegation included students from different levels with a group of faculty, namely Dr. Muna Al-Osfoor, the vice head of the Math Department; Dr. Ghalyah Al-Hamzi, activity supervisor;  Dr.Muna Khandaqji, and Dr. Shayma' Al-Juhani.                                             

The visit started at 10:00 AM. The delegation was greeted by Mr. Hussain Al-Shahrani and Ms. Nada Al-Khaleefah. During the visit, a discussion was held with a number of representatives of departments and centers in KACST. Each representative presented a brief summary of the administration or the center he represents. After that, KACST responded to the students' inquiries and discussed a number of points relevant to students' interest and scientific research as well as the KACST aid to student researchers from various academic levels.                                   

The program included visits to the following departments and sites:                                               

1- Information Security - Cyber Lab: The delegation were familiarized with a number of machines like: atomic force microscope, scanning force microscopy and crystalline deposition device.                                                                            

2- General Administration for Information.                                                      

3- The National Center for Remote Sensing Technology.

3- Basmah Al-Mubarak.

4- Dalal Al-Qahtani.

5- Aayah Al-Boohi.

6- Ahlam Abdulhadi.

7- Bashayer Al-Otaibi.

The participants expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for this visit and the hospitality of KACST. They also thanked the Math Department for their considerable efforts in preparing, organizing, and coordinating this visit.
