On the 9th of February 2016, Dr. Kamal K. T. Hamza (Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry  presented a lecture titled

" Towards Better Understanding to spectroscopy "

Abstract:

The presentation dealt with the use of quantum chemical concept to shed light on spectroscopy. The quantum mechanical models, the particle in 1-D box, harmonic oscillator and rigid rotor were employed to derive ultraviolet, infrared and microwave spectra of some simple molecules. The  effect of isotopes on the spectra were discussed. Further some applications were also discussed.
