The College of Science Honors Members who Won Grants of the Academic Publishing Incentives Program

The College of Science celebrated some of its members 'winning of grants of the Academic Publishing Incentives Program in its fourth session this year 1436/1437 A.H. which are offered by the Deanship of Scientific Research. The ceremony took place on Tuesday 21 Jumada Al-Awwal 1437 A.H. corresponding to 1 March 2016. The ceremony was opened by a speech delivered by H.E. Dr. Osama Ibn Abdulrahman Al-Daghri, the Vice-Dean of the college for Administrative and Financial Affairs, who welcomed the attendees and wished the winners all the best. He also congratulated the College for achieving distinction in scientific research throughout the duration of the award in the last four years. Then, His Excellency the Dean of the College gave a brief speech in which he congratulated the winners of the award, and called for more efforts and distinction in teaching and academic research. He also stressed the fact that the college is distinguished in the field of academic research at the university level. Then His Excellency reviewed the history of the college achievements in the field of academic research, mentioning the many awards won by the college members for distinguished academic research and grants of the Academic Publishing Incentives Program. The distinction of the College was crowned by winning the Distinguished College Plaque this year, which is a plaque introduced this year by the Deanship of Scientific Research and the Academic Publishing Unit which supervises the award in appreciation for winning the first place in the Academic Publishing Incentives Program throughout the duration of the award which is four years. This plaque also crowned the college efforts in supporting scientific research and the distinction of its members.     

The Dean congratulated the winners of grants of the Academic Publishing Incentives Program. They are: Prof. Lassaad Ibn Mabrouk Ibn Hussein, Professor in the  Physics Department in the College of Science, who participated with 27 published research works, Dr. Kamal Abduljawwad Idris Bradah, Associate Professor in the Physics Department in  the College of Science, who participated by publishing 9 research works, and Dr. Muhammad Khadhar, Associate Professor in  the Mathematics Department in the College of Science.

Afterwards, H.E. Dr. Raed Ibn Hussein Al-Hathlool, Vice-Dean of the College for Development and Quality, gave a speech in which he congratulated the winners of grants of the Academic Publishing Incentives Program, and congratulated the College for its distinction. He then welcomed the honor guest in the ceremony H.E. Dr. Marzouk Ibn Saleh Al-Shammari, a researcher at the National Center for Nanotechnology at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), and supervisor. He also congratulated Dr. Ra`ed Al-Hathlool for the first batch of graduation projects of the female students of the  Physics Department at KACST laboratories in the first semester of this academic year 1436/1437 A.H., thanks to Allah, the Almighty, in the first place for the success of that experience and thanks to the efforts of Dr. Marzooq, may Allah protect him.

This award ceremony was opened by the Dean of the College who presented an appreciation plaque from the College of Science represented by the Physics Department to H.E. Dr. Marzouk Ibn Saleh Al-Shammari. The  Dean of the College then presented congratulations plaques to each of H.E. Prof. Abdullah Al-Jouiee, Vice-Dean of the College for Higher Studies and Scientific Research, for being promoted to the rank of professor and to H.E. Dr. Muhammad Saad Al-Issa, Head of the Biology Department, for being promoted to the rank of associate professor. Consequently, the Deanship of the College presented appreciation plaques to each of: H.E. Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Mayouf, Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs of the College, for his fruitful efforts throughout his career, H.E. Ms. Reem Al-Jadhey in appreciation of her fruitful efforts during her term of appointment in the Vice-Deanship of the College in the female section, and H.E. Ms. Mervat Al-Zumia, Vice-Dean of the Physics Department, in appreciation of her distinct and fruitful efforts for assuming  the leadership of the Vice-Deanship of the Physics Department at King Abdullah City for Female Students, and for her constant pursuit in developing the department.

This was followed by the submission of certificates for receiving grants of the Academic Publishing Incentives Program handed in by H.E.  The Dean of the College to college members from the various academic departments. Finally, they were invited to take a group commemorative photograph and had a snack prepared for the occasion.
