The third Seminar in the Physics Department in the Second Semester was presented by Dr. Khalid Bin Awf

The Scientific Committee in the Physics Department held the third seminar of the department during the second semester of the academic year 1436/1437 A.H. entitled:

"Amplified Spontaneous Emission from the Exciplex State of a Conjugated Polymer "PFO" in Oleic Acid"

The seminar was thankfully presented by Dr. Khalid Bin Awf on Thursday 28 Jumada Al-Awwal 1437 A.H. corresponding to 8 March 2016 G.C. at 11:00 A.M. for half an hour.  The seminar was followed by comments and questions from the audience.

The presenter of the seminar began by giving an idea about the spectral and laser properties of the polymeric material "PFO" of bilateral relations. The seminar also addressed the key points that have been discovered under different concentrations and temperatures.   The presenter of the seminar revealed the results attained after diagnosing the manufactured samples by studying their optical properties.  A number of faculty members of the department participated in discussing several points including the application side of the manufacturing method of this kind of samples, as well as the possibility of using them in many applications such as solar cells, optical catalysis or sensors.

This seminar is part of a weekly series of seminars organized by the Scientific Committee at Physics Department and presented by faculty members of the department and researchers from other research bodies. These seminars aim at stimulating the academic climate of scientific research in the Department, and informing the departmentstaff and students of the latest advances in physical sciences in the various fields.

It is noteworthy to mention that attending these seminars is open to all faculty members, employees and students of the university.
