The College of Science Celebrates the 86th Anniversary of the National Day

The College of Science at Al Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University organized an academic Seminar on Monday morning, 01/02/1437 AH, corresponding to 10/03/2016 AD, entitled "The Impact of the Saudi Approach on Preserving the True Faith and Unity of the Country." This Seminar was held as part of the University celebration of the 86th anniversary of the National Day, which was prepared by "My Country Is Me" Program. Dr. Muhammad Sa'eed Al-Alam, Vice-Rector of the University for Knowledge Exchange and International Communications, participated in the Seminar along with Dr. Muhammad Babtain, Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Yahya Al-Amri, Dean of the College of Sharia, and Dr. Raed Al-Hathlool, Vice-Dean of the College of Science for Development and Quality.

Dr. Al-Alam stressed that Saudi Arabia has the respect of the Arab countries and the Islamic nation for being the home of the Two Holy Mosques and for its efforts in seeking to establish peace and security in the World.

He also noted that the Kingdom has been marching towards future prospects since its establishment by King Abdulaziz and his sons after him up to this prosperous era under King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad Bin Nayef, Crown Prince, and Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, Deputy Crown Prince. He pointed out that the allocation of nearly 25% of the government budget for education is a sign that this country is investing in its youth. He also mentioned the government's interest in all development aspects of this country.

The Vice-Rector of the University for Knowledge Exchange and International Communications mentioned that the University takes special care of the National Day every year. The University reminds students of the importance of this Day and of its various implications and aspects, including security, the biggest and most important blessing, which the government is working to maintain.

Dr. Al-Alam addressed the students saying: Our country suffers from a fierce attack and conspiracy against it, and the official bodies will stand up to it, but this is not enough. If we do not stand against this attack, our existence is in danger. Students are in the front line to stop this attack through the available social media and technology. They are as important as the army defending the southern border of the country and all places and sectors. It has been proven beyond doubt that the people are joining hands with the government.

He also congratulated King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad Bin Nayef Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, on the occasion of the eighty-sixth National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also thanked Prof. Sulaiman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of the University, for the University efforts. In addition, he thanked Mr. Saleh Al-Salem, Executive Director of "My Country Is Me" Program, for his distinguished production and various activities in this celebration.

Moreover, Dr. Yahya Al-Amri, Dean of the College of Sharia, pointed out that we live in this country with many blessings that we have by the grace of Allah and then by applying Islamic Sharia. He noted that this blessed country was established by the guidance of the Quran and Sunnah and continues to get only stronger. However, it was not spared from the conspiracy of enemies. In every time and place, the rulers of this country take pride in applying the Islamic Sharia and pure monotheism.

He also pointed out that the occasion of the National Day should make us proud and thankful to Allah for His blessings. He mentioned that this country followed the Saudi approach attributes, including adhering to Al-Sunnah Wal Jama'a, following and obeying the rulers, following the Sunnah and avoiding the Bid'ah. He explained that these attributes resulted in unity, tolerance, rejecting intolerance, moderation, immunity against trial and steadfast in Islam.

Dr. Muhammad Babtain, Dean of the College of Science, stressed that this anniversary brings to our mind the unity of this country, noting that the National Day is the Day where the country was united thanks to the effort and struggle led by King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, and followed by his sons till King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He noted that the country focused on the education and training of the citizen in all areas and also devoted considerable attention to the Two Holy Mosques, mosques in general, and printing of the Holy Quran. He also said that there are many blessings which many people overlooked, the most important of which is security, he said: "Patriotism is what brings security and safety, and in this regard we should thank our brave soldiers who sacrifice themselves for the stabilityof the country and the protection of its property.

Dr. Al-Hathlool talked in his speech about some scientific achievements of this country in the field of scientific research, science, and technology in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, especially the ones related to science and technology. Some of which are: King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Saudi Standard, Metrology and Quality Organization, SABIC Plastics Applications Development Center, Advanced Electronics Company Limited, King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology at King Saud University, and the General Authority for Statistics, as well as the major universities in Riyadh such as King Saud University, Al Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.

At the end of the Seminar, a number of prizes were distributed. The program of the celebration included verses from the Quran recited by Mr. Musa Khurami, showing of "Thikra Khalidah" film, and a poem by Khaled Al-Mutairi, Student in the Physics Department.

The Dean of the College of Science thanked Dr. Muhammad Sa'eed Al-Alam, Vice-Rector of the University for Knowledge Exchange and International Communications, Dr. Yahya Al-Amri, Dean of the College of Sharia, and Dr. Raed Al-Hathlool, Vice-Dean of the College of Science for Development and Quality, for their participation in this event.

Dr. Babtain also thanked the organizing committee of the ceremony, under the leadership of Dr. Osama Abdulrahman Al-Daghri, Vice-Dean of the College for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Ma'youf, Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs of the College, and all the faculty members and administrative staff in the College for their blessed efforts.
