University Vice-Rector for Planning, Development and Quality Prof. Khaled Ibn Abdulghaffar Al Abdulraman warned from acts targeting young people to shake security and stability in KSA, and disrupting the unity which the Kingdom enjoys. This resulted from trials seducing some of the young. He urged all to be with religious scholars as the country was primarily established on the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
This took place during the national scientific seminar at the Colleges of Science and Information and Computer Science held on Sunday, 25 / 11 / 1435 AH among the university celebration program of the National Day 84th anniversary entitled "Positive Role of Youth towards Nation and ways of supporting it". The Deans of the two faculties, Dr. Issa Alissa and Dr. Mohammad Babatin also participated besides the Head of Information Studies Department Dr. Ahmad Alobeidallah.
Dr. Al Abdulrahman talked about the efforts paid by the Late King Abdulaziz to unify the insecure fragments into a strong united nation relying on faithfulness and Monotheism based on the holy Quran, respected Sunnah, and traditions of our ancestors, when Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud and Sheikh Mohammad Ibn Abdulwahhab took the oath for pure belief. He certified that the greatest grace after belief is the grace of security and stability that this nation enjoys which many people do not recognize. He confirmed the full support to the leadership and religious scholars to preserve the common and private advantages and benefits and avoid vandalism, riots and hurting people.
The university Vice-Rector for Planning, Development, and Quality addressed the students to take care of their studies which is the proper way to reflect love of one's country and be constructive elements, not affected by unfruitful thoughts loaded on media. He also addressed staff members to help students employ what they have learned for the benefit of their nation.
He also noted that this festivity is accompanied with the acceptance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz for the Honorary Doctorate in (International Relations and Achievement of Security and Peace).
The Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Mohammad babatin stated that this anniversary brings back to minds the unity of the country which on this day all came to one word. This was after an enormous struggle led by the Late King Abdulaziz Al Saud, and continued by his sons until it reached the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz - may Allah protect him. It is a reign in which the country has witnessed great cultural leaps and achieved noticeable growth in the areas of economy, education, development and others.
Dr. Babatin stated that the country cared about its citizens' education and training in all fields and increased the number of universities and opened scholarships. Ever since its establishment, the state demonstrated great concern for the two holy mosques and printing the Holy Quran.
The Dean of the College of Information and Computer Science, Dr. Issa Alissa said that during the past 84 years, the country witnessed great leaps in all fields, among which is high education. There are 28 government universities and more than 10 private universities and colleges. About 350 thousand university seats were offered besides students who are accepted at military colleges and private universities. There are 150 thousand scholarships to more than 25 countries and many other achievements.
Dr. Alissa noted that the Kingdom cared about the technological sector by establishing more than 28 colleges of science and computer, besides caring about citizens' minds as an investment which will benefit the nation.
The Dean also stated that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz is the first man of relations and peace with His clear prints at the international, Arab, Gulf and local levels. The university awarding Him the Honorary Doctorate in (International Relations and Achievement of Security and Peace) is an acknoweledgement of his efforts in this regard.
The Head of Information Studies at the Faculty of Information and Computer science, Dr. Ahmad Alobeidallah said that loving of one's country is a matter of instinct. He added the Kingdom has its own characteristics manifested in the existence of the Two Holy Mosques, and its unity that is based on religion and serving the pilgrimage.
Festival activities included displaying the (Immortal Anniversary) /Thekra Khaledah/, students' speech, and awarding distinguished students at the Faculties of Science and Information and Computer Science. Some gifts were offered.
