Vice-Deanship of the College of Science for Development and Quality Honors Members

The Vice-Deanship of the College for Development and Quality honored its members in the Final Ceremony of the College of Science which was held under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Babtain, Dean of the College, on Wednesday, 07/27/1437 AH, corresponding to 05/04/2016 AD.

Dr. Raed Hussein Al-Hathlool, Vice-Dean of the College for Development and Quality, presented an overview about the Vice-Deanship showing the concrete development of the Vice-Deanship thanks to concerted efforts of all its members. Therefore, it became a leader at the University level regarding scientific research, scientific publications, teaching, and translation.

He began his speech explaining the organizational structure of development and quality processes in the College, which includes three units: Development and Quality Unit, Statistics and Data Analysis Unit, and Training Unit, as well as several sub-committees of these Units. He also mentioned that the Vice-Deanship has a branch on Female Campus which supervises all its units and performs outstanding efforts under the auspices of Dr. Abeer Saleh Al-Nahdi, Assistant Vice-Dean of the College of Science for Development and Quality.

Regarding responsibilities of the Development and Quality Unit under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdulwahid Al-Khalil, the Unit has developed all the programs of the College, which are: Masters of Science in Mathematics, Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, Bachelor of Science in Physics, and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.  The Unit has many other achievements which have led to improving the work and establishing its professionalism, such as the College Strategic Plan "Horizon (Aufuq) 1441 AH," job descriptions, College guide, administrative structure of the College and all its vice-deanships, units, and departments. The Unit has also identified and adopted some Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which contribute to the measurement of all quality standards. It is noteworthy that the scientific departments of the College has completed the academic accreditation documents in accordance with the 2013 models of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA). All these achievements have made the College ready to start the project of academic accreditation, which the College has been working hard to achieve since the Development Program.

The Vice-Deanship thanked members of the Unit and the academic accreditation committees in the departments for their blessed efforts.

Moreover, Dr. Al-Hathlool mentioned the achievements of the Training Unit under the supervision of its chairman Dr. Muhammad Hassan Issa Salem in the male section and Dr. Abeer Saleh Al-Nahdi in the female section. The Unit is responsible for all the issues related to faculty training. The main objective of the Unit is to develop their skills to be able to perform roles effectively and efficiently, which will improve the educational and research process of the College to become effective and able to reach the overall quality.

Furthermore, the Unit has supervised the training of more than two hundred faculty (repetitively), whereas they engaged in more than thirty training programs and workshops.

With regard to the achievements of the Statistics and Data Analysis Unit under the supervision of its chairman Dr. Anis Ghorbal, it published a lot of information, documents, and statistical analysis, particularly the book of analyzing the questionnaire of those who will employ the College graduates. The Unit also completed several questionnaires that were distributed to faculty members, staff, and students, in order to provide feedback to units and departments of the College, which will use this information to make plans, programs, and reports.

In addition, the Vice-Deanship gave credit to the efforts of Graduate Committee, headed by Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Dakhil in the male section and Ms. Hanadi Jamoum in the female section. The Committee completed the data of many male and female graduates of this year in preparation for future contact to maintain employers' questionnaires analysis. The Graduate Committee also coordinated seven training programs for graduates and students during this year. It is noteworthy to mention that the Statistics and Data Analysis Unit has a branch on Female Campus, leaded by Ms. Mai Hamrani.

Dr. Al-Hathlool also clarified that the College has a leading position in many other areas, such as funded internal and external research projects. In addition, the College website (Arabic/English), under the distinguished supervision of Mr. Salah al-Din Omar, is recognized at the top of other colleges in the monthly report published by ePortal Administration - Deanship of Information Technology.

At the end of the final workshop on Female Campus, College members were honored under the supervision of Dr. Kholoud Al-Balawi, Vice-Dean of the College for Student Affairs, who handed them the certificates.

In conclusion, Vice-Dean of the College for Development and Quality thanked all the members of Vice-Deanship of the College of Science for Development and Quality for their dedication to work, noting the support and positive reaction of all College leaders, led by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Babtain, Dean of the College.
