The College of Science Receives Cambridge Consultants

The College of Science has received consultant Tom Empson from Cambridge Consultants. Dr. Raed Hussein Al-Hathlool, Vice-Dean of the College for Development and Quality, held the meeting in his office. In addition, Mr. Abdulmajid Al-Drayweesh, from the Deanship of Information Technology, attended the meeting.

This visit is part of the University Technology Zone project, which is supervised by the Deanship of Information Technology. This project falls within the University seeking IT infrastructure development, including Science Complex or Science Park.

Science parks motivate technology, creativity, and innovation. These areas are designed and managed to encourage innovation in universities. They are also a place which embodies the cooperation between universities and the industry and technology sector. They aim at strengthening cooperation ties between universities and public and private sectors to create economic and technological development and promote scientific knowledge.

Then, Dr. Raed Al-Hathlool presented a brief overview about the College and its different academic departments and units. On the other hand, the Consultant was fully briefed on scientific research activities within the College of Science and teaching activities delivered to its students and students from other colleges at the University.

Dr. Al-Hathlool also focused on the outstanding accomplishments achieved by the College under the supervision of its Dean, Dr. Muhammad Babtain, and cooperation of all faculty and staff members.

Furthermore, they talked, in detail, about scientific research in the College and resources for supporting scientific research. Moreover, they talked about how to utilize scientific research outcomes in technology, economy, health, and other fields.

In the same context, Dr. Al-Hathlool and Mr. Empson, Technology and Creativity Consultant, talked about research centers available for faculty within or outside the University, such as King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, King Saud University, Riyadh Techno Valley, SABIC, and other institutions and organizations supporting scientific research.

In conclusion, Mr. Empson thanked the College of Science for the opportunity of holding this fruitful meeting.
