The College of Science Participates in Meeting of Vice-Rector for Planning, Development, and Quality to Promote the Culture of Quality and perfection

The College of Science, represented by its Dean and a team from the Vice-Deanship for Development and Quality, participated in the Meeting with Dr. Khaled Abdulghaffar Al Abdulrahman, Vice-Rector of the University for Planning, Development, and Quality, and the vice-deans of colleges and supportive deanships to promote the culture of quality and perfection. The meeting was held on Tuesday, 07/26/1437 AH, in the Rotunda in Conferences Building and in Hall "B" for women.

The College was represented by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Babtain, Dean of the College, Dr. Raed Hussein Al-Hathlool, Vice-Dean of the College for Development and Quality, Dr. Abdulwahid Al-Khalil, the Chairman of the Development and Quality Unit, and from the female section, Dr. Abeer Saleh Al-Nahdi, Assistant Vice-Dean of the College for Development and Quality.

The Meeting falls within the framework of the implementation contract of the assessment study at institutional level of the University project with the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA), which was signed in the Acting Rector's office, on 05/05/1437 AH. The Meeting aims at ensuring the importance of disseminating and promoting comprehensive quality culture among the University members and all its units. Ensuring that the academic programs comply with the requirements of NCAAA, and discussing the most prominent practical steps taken by academic units for the sake of education and program accreditation development in accordance with the General Quality Guide of academic programs and plans approval. Ensuring that the academic programs of the educational units comply with the requirements of NCAAA; in addition to introducing challenges and suggestions provided by the Meeting attendees regarding this issue.

On this occasion, Dr. Khaled Abdulghaffar Al Abdulrahman, Vice-Rector of the University for Planning, Development, and Quality, said that such meetings and occasions capture the University officials' interest and commitment to support and pursue required procedures for the Roadmap of the University to obtain academic and institutional accreditation. In fact, accreditation has become more important due to the expansion of academic work in Saudi universities based on a group of successful organizational decisions. It contributes greatly to the improvement of academic field workers' capabilities and quality of University outcomes. In addition, he thanked Dr. Fawzan Abdulrahman Al-Fawzan, Acting Rector, vice-rectors, deans of colleges and supportive deanships, and vice-deans of quality and assessment in colleges, deanships, and administrations for their efforts and practical steps undertaken in order to obtain academic and institutional accreditation in accordance with the existing plans.

Furthermore, the Dean of the College of Science presented a speech thanking Dr. Khaled Abdulghaffar Al Abdulrahman, Vice-Rector of the University for Planning, Development, and Quality, and Dr. Sulaiman Al-Jubair, Dean of Quality and Assessment, for their huge efforts to improve work in all deanships and units of the University. He also appreciated the support the College gets from the University Rectorate regarding this issue. In addition, he assured that the College had come a long way to obtain academic accreditation as a result of joint efforts of the College officials and faculty members.

On the other hand, Dr. Raed Al-Hathlool thanked the Team of the Vice-Deanship of the College of Science for Development and Quality and all faculty members for their blessed efforts that have put the College in the lead among other colleges regarding the readiness for obtaining academic accreditation. He also presented a brief overview about the College structure, achievements, and outcomes. Moreover, he clarified the College current situation regarding submitting a request for academic accreditation. Additionally, Dr. Abdulwahid Al-Khalil participated by mentioning the initiatives adopted by the Development and Quality Unit within the College which have enabled it to satisfy many requirements in organized and institutional ways.

The Vice-Rector of the University for Planning, Development, and Quality and Dean of Quality and Assessment has given credit to the College for the outstanding work related to development and quality. In addition, Dr. Kholoud Al-Tamimi, Vice-Dean of Quality and Assessment at King Abdullah City for Female Students, thanked and complimented the College for its unique administrative structure and involvement of the female section, led by Dr. Abeer Al-Nahdi, in all development, quality, and academic accreditation work.
