The 6th Academic Seminar in the Department of Physics by Dr. Muhammad Al-Duraibi

The Scientific Committee in the Physics Department organized the 6th Academic Seminar during the second semester of the academic year 1436/1437 AH, entitled

 "Nanoscale Metal Oxide-Based Gas Sensors, Material Synthesis and Devices Fabrication."

Dr. Muhammad Al-Duraibi, Assistant Professor in the Physics Department in King Saud University, presented the Seminar on Tuesday, 07/12/1437 AH, corresponding to 04/19/2016 AD, at 11:00 a.m., for half an hour. It was followed by questions and discussions from the attendees.

Dr. Al-Duraibi began the Seminar by giving an idea about the emergence of various techniques for the development of semiconductor materials with the various forms nanostructures, where there have been new ways to manufacture or develop some electronic or optoelectronic devices. In addition, he mentioned the ways in which some gas or vapor detectors work with an emphasis on detectors based on metal oxide nanomaterials (used as a gas-sensitive layer). Faculty members and students of the Department were involved in the discussion regarding several points, including the practical side of how to use these samples.

This Seminar falls within a series of seminars held by the Scientific Committee in the Physics Department and presented by faculty members in the Department and researchers from other research sectors. They aim at motivating scientific research environment in the Department and informing its members of the latest advances in physical sciences in various fields.

 

It is noteworthy to mention that attending these seminars is open to all University members, including faculty and staff members and students.
