The Department of Physics Continues the Academic Seminars Series with a Seminar by Dr. Heyam Khazoun

The Physics Department (Female Section) organized the 5th Seminar during the second semester of the academic year 1436/1437 AH, entitled

rfluidity and Quantum Vortices."

Dr. Heyam Khazoun, presented the Seminar on Tuesday, 07/05/1437 AH, corresponding to 04/12/2016 AD, at 09:15 a.m., for half an hour. It was followed by questions and discussions from the attendees.

Dr. Khazoun began by giving an idea about the concept of superfluidity and its relationship with the Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC). The Seminar also dealt with the concept of quantum vortices and their causes with a quantum mathematical explanation of the origin of these vortices and superfluidity. Faculty members and students of the Department were involved in the discussion regarding several points, including examples of materials that could reach superfluidity with an explanation of their causes.

This Seminar falls within a series of seminars held by the Scientific Committee in the Physics Department and presented by faculty members in the Department and researchers from other research sectors. They aim at motivating the scientific research environment in the Department and informing its members of the latest advances in physical sciences in various fields.

It is noteworthy to mention that attending these seminars is open to all University members, including faculty and staff members and students.

With regards,

The Department of Physics
