The Scientific Committee in the Physics Department organized the 4th Seminar of this academic year 1436/1437 AH, entitled:
"ZnO Grown by Pulsed Laser Deposition."
Dr. Masad Al-Mutairi, Supervisor of the Research and Studies Center at the Saudi Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), presented the Seminar on Tuesday, 06/20/1437 AH, corresponding to 03/29/2016 AD, at 11:00 a.m., for half an hour. It was followed by questions and discussions from the attendees.
Dr. Al-Mutairi started by giving an idea about the characteristics of conventional semiconductors such as Silicon, Germanium, Gallium Arsenide, and Group 3 and Group 5 elements. In addition, the Seminar briefly addressed the physical properties of zinc oxide. Dr. Al-Mutairi also presented the results obtained after the samples were tested by studying their optical properties. Faculty members and students of the Department were involved in the discussion regarding several points, including the practical side of how to make this type of samples by laminated precipitation technique using laser for micro forms with high quality.
This Seminar falls within a series of seminars held by the Scientific Committee in the Physics Department and presented by faculty members in the Department and researchers from other research sectors. They aim at motivating the scientific research environment in the Department and informing its members of the latest advances in physical sciences in various fields.
It is noteworthy to mention that attending these seminars is open to all University members, including faculty and staff members and students.
