UNESCO Website Lists the Activity of the Physics Department on the Occasion of Light Year among This Year Activities

   Ascertaining the   commitment of the Physics Department of the College of Science to keep pace withinternational scientific activities, the United Nations Education, Science, and Culture Organization (UNESCO) listed the Department's activity about the Light Year at the organization's website - Light Year 2015 branch.   This activity presented by the Department is among the follow up activities of this world event of UNESCO to appoint the year 2015 to be the "Light Year". Several world organizations competed through different participations: research, educational, technological or others to present activities and events on this scientific and cultural occasion.

 The Physics Department presented various activities under the logo "Light Year 2015" on two consecutive days, Wednesday and Thursday, 25 - 26/2/1436 AH - 6 - 7/5/ 2015 AD.  The activities took place in the branches of male and female students. Activities were varied to include competitions, seminars, presentations, live experiments in front of the audience of students and staff members. 

   These activities enjoyed the noble care of his Excellency, the College Dean Dr.  Mohammad Babtein, and his Excellency, the Head of the Department Dr. Ahmad Alqa'ud. In this regard, the Faculty Dean and the Head of the Department thanked the Physics Department staff members who planned, prepared, and implemented the activities. These are   from the female students section: Ms. Mervet Azzme'i and Ms. Safiyah Alharbi, From the male students section: Mr. Sa'aad Jaber, Mr. Fawaz Almteiri, and Mr. Turki Alttoub. Male and female staff members who took part in implementing the activities are Dr. Mohammad Marashdeh, Dr. Khaled 'Awf, Dr. Zakiyah Fakai, Dr. Heyam Alkhazoun ,Dr. Maha Turjuman, Dr. Najla Abdel'aal  and Dr. Wafiah Salem. The College Dean and the Head of the Department thanked Dr. Raed Alhathloul, head of the Department Scientific Committee who paid distinguished efforts and followed up the activity right to the end ,ever since it was just an idea he had put forward ..
