Scientific seminar in the Physics Department by department Dr. Imad Omar MoHammad Al-Ghailoufi

A lecture entitled "Using Nanomaterials in Processing Polluted Water"

In its third activity this semester, the Scientific Committee organized a seminar at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 3 Safar, 1436 AH - 25 November, 2014 entitled:

"Using Nanomaterials in Processing Polluted Water"

The seminar was presented by the associate professor in the department Dr. Imad Omar MoHammad Al-Ghailoufi.

The lecturer began by talking about the methods of processing polluted water resulting from wastes of factories and residential neighborhoods. He also talked about the sources and dangers of heavy materials on human health and the methods used to dispose them in polluted water.

In the second part of the seminar, Dr. Imad Omar MoHammad Al-Ghailoufi talked about manufacturing and analyzing nanomaterials used in processing polluted water. Nanomaterials are a mixture of nanocarbon, nanoresin and metal oxides.  Concluding his paper, he presented the most important findings of using nanomaterials to extract heavy materials from polluted water.

On the other hand, the Scientific Committee stated that these seminars were open to all university staff including instructors and students. This aims at spreading the culture of scientific research, motivating it and raising the staff performance in it. It also serves the objectives of university to support sciences, technology and innovation. These seminars are held weekly at 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the meeting room of the Physics Department.
