في إطار النشاط العلمي والبحثي لقسم الفيزياء بكلية العلوم، أقام القسم ندوة علمية بعنوان: 

WinSpall software Simulation of angular plasmonic sensor

قدّمها سعادة الدكتور عاشور محمد، وذلك صباح يوم الأربعاء 11/02/2026 م الموافق 23/08/1447 هـ في تمام الساعة 10:00 صباحاً في القاعة 03-33B بالكلية.

وقد تناولت الندوة العلمية ما يلي:

Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is an optical phenomenon that occurs when incident light couples resonantly with the collective oscillations of free electrons at a metal–dielectric interface. This interaction produces evanescent electromagnetic fields that are extremely sensitive to refractive-index variations. Because of this high sensitivity, SPR has become a powerful tool in applications such as biosensing, where biomolecular interactions at the sensor surface lead to detectable shifts in the resonance conditions. WinSpall, a specialized simulation program developed by the Max Planck Institute, enables fast and accurate modeling of angular SPR curves using Fresnel formalism. Its combination of simplicity and precision makes it an essential tool for designing and analyzing plasmonic biosensors with enhanced sensitivity for biomedical and environmental.

حيث استعرض الدكتور أبرز المحاور والنتائج ذات الصلة بالموضوع مقدماً طرحاً علمياً قيّماً أثار نقاشاً مثمراً بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب الحاضرين.

وتأتي هذه الندوة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية التي يحرص قسم الفيزياء على تنظيمها بشكل دوري وذلك في إطار تعزيز النشاط البحثي والأكاديمي بالقسم وحرصاً على إتاحة الفرصة للتفاعل العلمي وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين وطلاب الدراسات العليا بالقسم.
