​في إطار النشاط العلمي والبحثي لقسم الفيزياء بكلية العلوم، أقام القسم ندوة علمية بعنوان:

Polymer clay nanocomposite

قدّمها سعادة الدكتور محمد ميرغني، وذلك صباح اليوم الأربعاء الموافق 22/10/2025 م الموافق 01/05/1447 هـ في تمام الساعة 08:30 صباحاً في القاعة 03-33B بالكلية.

وقد تناولت الندوة العلمية ما يلي:

Abstract: Nanocomposite material which contains inorganic nanolayer clay and organic polymer has attracted considerable attention in recent years. Particularly, intercalation of organic polymer into inorganic layered host lattice has approved to be an effective way to construct inorganic–organic nanosystem. A layer silicate of composition , from Aldrich Company (Germany) with a diameter of   is reported. Kaolinite treated by dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) as an aqueous system to expand the interlayer basal spacing. The basal spacing was increased from 7.15 to 11.2 Angstrom by using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). The analyses made by using XRD shows kaolinite spacing before modification is 0.715 nm while it became in the range of 0.715 nm – 1.12 nm). Eight nanocomposites were formed; one set contains four different ratio of (kaolinite/DMSO)/PMMA, while the other contains that of PMMA and pristine kaolinite. The results are found to be good agreement with each other. This result conforms to that of transmission electron microscope, which shows the same order of magnitude in the range of nm. In this study, the mechanical, thermal and morphological properties of nanocomposites were evaluated by tensile test, impact, hardness, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

حيث استعرض الدكتور أبرز المحاور والنتائج ذات الصلة بالموضوع مقدماً طرحاً علمياً قيّماً أثار نقاشاً مثمراً بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب الحاضرين.

وتأتي هذه الندوة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية التي يحرص قسم الفيزياء على تنظيمها بشكل دوري وذلك في إطار تعزيز النشاط البحثي والأكاديمي بالقسم وحرصاً على إتاحة الفرصة للتفاعل العلمي وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين وطلاب الدراسات العليا بالقسم.
