​في إطار النشاط العلمي والبحثي لقسم الفيزياء بكلية العلوم، أقام القسم ندوة علمية بعنوان:

Optical charctrization by Spectroscopic Ellipsometry

 قدمتها سعادة الدكتورة أسماء بنت ناصر الكبش، وذلك ظهر اليوم الأربعاء الموافق 29/10/2025م الموافق 7/5/1447 هـ في تمام الساعة 12:30 مساءً في قاعة الاجتماعات 03-A-335 بالكلية شطر الطالبات.

وقد تناولت الندوة العلمية ما يلي:

This presentation introduces Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (SE) as a precise, non-destructive tool for nanoscale thin-film characterization.

It analyzes polarization changes of reflected light to determine film thickness and optical constants n and k.

SE is more accurate than UV–Vis, which measures only transmittance and absorbance.

It effectively studies multilayer systems like MoS₂/BN/Si.

An optical model is built to represent each layer and its parameters.

Models such as Cauchy and Tauc–Lorentz describe spectral behavior.

Measurements are done at 55–75°, near Brewster's angle.

The technique simultaneously extracts structure and optical data.

It's vital for nanomaterial and device engineering research.

SE has become an essential tool in modern applied physics and materials scienc.

 حيث استعرضت الدكتورة أبرز المحاور والنتائج ذات الصلة بالموضوع م​قدماً طرحاً علمياً قيّماً أثار نقاشاً مثمراً بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب الحاضرين.

وتأتي هذه الندوة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية التي يحرص قسم الفيزياء على تنظيمها بشكل دوري وذلك في إطار تعزيز النشاط البحثي والأكاديمي بالقسم وحرصاً على إتاحة الفرصة للتفاعل العلمي وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين وطلاب الدراسات العليا بالقسم.
