في إطار النشاط العلمي والبحثي لقسم الكيمياء بكلية العلوم، أقام القسم ندوة علمية بعنوان:

Fundamental of Gas Chromatography

قدّمتها سعادة الدكتورة عالية عبد الله الشريف، وذلك صباح اليوم الأربعاء الموافق 06/05/2026 م الموافق 19/11 /1447 هـ في تمام الساعة 08:00 صباحاً في القاعة 325- 3C بالكلية.

وقد تناولت الندوة العلمية ما يلي:

This seminar presents the fundamental principles of Gas Chromatography (GC) and its vital role in the separation and analysis of volatile and semi-volatile chemical compounds with high accuracy and sensitivity. The seminar covers the working mechanism of the GC system, including the mobile gas phase, stationary phase, different types of chromatographic columns, and commonly used detectors such as the Flame Ionization Detector (FID) and Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD). It also discusses the major factors affecting separation efficiency, including temperature, carrier gas flow rate, and sample properties.

In addition, the seminar highlights the wide range of applications of Gas Chromatography in environmental analysis, pharmaceutical industries, food quality control, forensic chemistry, and pollutant detection. The seminar emphasizes the importance of GC as a rapid, reliable, and efficient analytical technique that provides accurate results while minimizing chemical consumption, making it one of the most essential tools in modern analytical and research laboratories.

حيث استعرضت الدكتورة أبرز المحاور والنتائج ذات الصلة بالموضوع مقدمةً طرحاً علمياً قيّماً أثار نقاشاً مثمراً بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب الحاضرين.

وتأتي هذه الندوة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية التي يحرص قسم الكيمياء على تنظيمها بشكل دوري وذلك في إطار تعزيز النشاط البحثي والأكاديمي بالقسم وحرصاً على إتاحة الفرصة للتفاعل العلمي وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين وطلاب الدراسات العليا بالقسم.
