في إطار النشاط العلمي والبحثي لقسم الفيزياء بكلية العلوم، أقام القسم ندوة علمية بعنوان:
XANES Study of Near-Edge X-Ray Absorption Coefficients in Selected Elements
قدّمها سعادة الأستاذ الدكتور محمد حسن عيسى سالم، وذلك يوم الأربعاء 07/10/2026 الموافق 26/04/1448 في تمام الساعة 08:30 صباحاً في القاعة 03-33B في كلية العلوم.
وقد تناولت الندوة العلمية ما يلي:
The seminar explored the principles of X-ray Absorption Near-Edge Structure (XANES) and the determination of near-edge mass absorption coefficients for seven elements: titanium, vanadium, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, and zinc. Key topics included synchrotron radiation, sample preparation, transmission measurements, and data analysis. The presentation highlighted variations in absorption coefficients near the absorption edges and compared the experimental results with published data, demonstrating good agreement.

Prof. Mohamed Hassan Eisa Salim presented the principles of X-ray Absorption Near-Edge Structure (XANES) and its application to investigating near-edge mass absorption coefficients in seven elements: titanium, vanadium, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, and zinc.
The seminar covered synchrotron-based measurements, sample preparation, transmission techniques, and data analysis, highlighting the variation of absorption coefficients near the absorption edges. The results were compared with published data, showing good agreement and demonstrating the value of XANES for characterizing elemental absorption behavior.
حيث استعرض الدكتور أبرز المحاور والنتائج ذات الصلة بالموضوع مقدماً طرحاً علمياً قيّماً أثار نقاشاً مثمراً بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب الحاضرين.
وتأتي هذه الندوة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية التي يحرص قسم الفيزياء على تنظيمها بشكل دوري وذلك في إطار تعزيز النشاط البحثي والأكاديمي بالقسم وحرصاً على إتاحة الفرصة للتفاعل العلمي وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين وطلاب الدراسات العليا بالقسم.
