في إطار النشاط العلمي والبحثي لقسم الرياضيات والإحصاء بكلية العلوم، أقام القسم ندوة علمية (سيمنار علمي) بعنوان:
Generations Type Problems for Sporadic Simple Groups 𝐹𝑖23 and 𝐹𝑖24
قدّمها سعادة الدكتور/ فرياد علي، وذلك صباح اليوم الأربعاء الموافق 2026/10/7 م في تمام الساعة 9:00 صباحاً بقاعة 2B-079 بالكلية.
وقد تناولت الندوة العلمية:
Finite simple groups are among the fundamental building blocks of finite group theory, with the sporadic simple groups forming a particularly remarkable and exceptional family. In this talk, we explore generation problems for the two large sporadic simple groups, 𝐹𝑖23 and 𝐹𝑖24 . More specifically, we study (𝑝𝑋, 𝑞𝑌, 𝑟𝑍)-generation, where 𝑝, 𝑞, 𝑟 are prime divisors of the group order and 𝑝𝑋, 𝑞𝑌, 𝑟𝑍 represent specified conjugacy classes of elements of the corresponding prime orders. The main question is whether elements chosen from these classes can generate the entire group subject to suitable relations. Since the groups under consideration are extremely large, computational methods play an important role in our investigation. Using the computer algebra systems Groups, Algorithms and Programming (GAP) and Magma, we examine conjugacy classes, element orders, generation of subgroups, and the conditions required for the existence of the relevant generating triples Finally, we examine how these generation properties are related to Beauville structures, which are special configurations of generating triples in a finite group and have connections with algebraic geometry and other areas of mathematics.
حيث استعرض الدكتور أبرز المحاور والنتائج ذات الصلة بالموضوع مقدماً طرحاً علمياً قيّماً أثار نقاشاً مثمراً بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب الحاضرين.
وتأتي هذه الندوة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية التي يحرص قسم الرياضيات والإحصاء على تنظيمها بشكل دوري وذلك في إطار تعزيز النشاط البحثي والأكاديمي بالقسم وحرصاً على إتاحة الفرصة للتفاعل العلمي وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين وطلاب الدراسات العليا بالقسم.
