In 2024, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University achieved a major research milestone, recording a Category Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI) of 2.56. This means the university’s publications were cited at more than twice the global average in the same field and time period—highlighting a significant advancement and maturity in the quality of its research output.
This achievement reflects the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which views education as a cornerstone of economic and societal development. The Kingdom has supported higher education by strengthening universities, advancing research programs, and enhancing international collaboration—efforts that have played a crucial role in developing and enriching the national research ecosystem.

The university has experienced a steady and impressive increase in scientific publications since 2019, rising from 495 publications to 1,901 in 2024—an increase of approximately 284% over five years.
