Imam Mohammad ibn Saud Islamic University, under the supervision of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, participates in the Fourth Health Innovation Hackathon


 

Under the generous patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef A. Al-Banyan, and under the slogan (We innovate for the health of a nation), Imam Mohammad ibn Saud Islamic University, under the supervision of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, participated in the Fourth Health Innovation Hackathon, which was organized by King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, during the period 19- 22/1/2024. The hackathon aims to promote and support the culture of innovation and creativity in the student community, and to create a national university gathering for talented students who have innovations and entrepreneurial ventures, to help them develop their ideas and connect them with incubators and patent centers, and establish an environment that develops the skills of engaging in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence and robotics.

 

The head of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Sawsan A. Al-Momen, explained that the university's participation in the Health Innovation Hackathon in its fourth edition is in line with the university's strategic objectives, by promoting and encouraging the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among university's affiliates. Al-Momen stated that the university's participation in the hackathon consisted of three teams in the course of the Health Innovation Hackathon Challenge, thirteen innovations in the course of the innovation exhibition, and the participation of the Head of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Sawsan Al-Momen in the course of the workshops designated for heads of innovation centers, in addition to the participation of eleven male and female students in the technical camp course. Al-Momen explained that the center worked to develop a qualification program for the university's affiliates in the hackathon, with the aim of raising the efficiency of the participants, as many workshops, training courses and advisory sessions were presented with experts from inside and outside the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, for training in presenting ideas and innovations before the Arbitration Committee.Al-Momen thanked the participants in the Hackathon, wishing them further success.

Hackathon Challenge Track: First Team: Ghaida Al-Ghamdi (Leader), Rima Al-Rashed, Rawabi Al-Enezi, Renad Al-Shalawi in the Metaverse in Healthcare Track. The second team: Reem Al-Shalhoub (Leader), Dr. Sarah Al-Maziadi, Renad Al-Duhaim, Oroub Al-Rumaih, and Lujain Al-Mutairi in the Metaverse track in health care. The third team: Faisal Al-Qu'yani (leader), Mishari Al-Nughimshi, Faisal Al-Bishri, Abdulaziz Al-Dakhil, in the track on using generative artificial intelligence in health.

 

The Track of the Innovative Exhibition: Manar H. Al-Qahtani - (Help Me) innovation, Saeeda S. Al-Maliki - (Yaqin Mattress for Children) innovation, Abdullah K. Al-Shehri - (Road Safety and Individual Health from the Effects of Environmental Pollution) innovation, Rima H. Al Zaid presenting two innovations: (Protecting Psychiatric Patients from Suicide), and  (Protecting Patients from Needle Complications), Hamad D. Al-Qahtani - (Smart Solutions for Remote Sensing) innovation, Ahmed O. Al-Ruqi - (Enhanced Blood Sugar Level Measurement Pen) innovation, Jamil Al-Rahman Z. Al-Rahman  who presented three innovations: (Vitamin D), (Primary Care), and (Emergency Disasters), Shatha M. Al-Dosari - (Calculate for Me) innovation, Dawlat S. Al Suleiman - (Smart Medical Pillow) innovation, Hala M. Al-Afidli - (A Specialized Watch for Hypertensive Patients ) innovation.​
