IMSIU ranked 11th globally in the number of U.S. utility patents, according to data from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

With the continued support and strategic commitment of H.E. Prof. Ahmed S. Alaameri to advancing the University's patent portfolio and strengthening its competitive position locally and globally, IMSIU has achieved a new international achievement in innovation and scientific research. The University is ranked 11th worldwide among the top 100 universities in U.S. utility patents for 2025, according to the report issued by the National Academy of Inventors.

This ranking follows IMSIU's record of 175 internationally registered patents, reflecting the accelerated growth of its innovation ecosystem and its capacity to translate research outputs into protected, practical, and commercially viable technologies.

Published annually since 2013, this ranking is recognized as a leading international benchmark for assessing innovation performance in academic institutions. It is based on the number of officially granted patents and reflects the critical role of universities in fostering the knowledge economy and advancing technological and societal development at both national and global levels.

This achievement underscores IMSIU's advanced standing among leading global universities in research, innovation, and knowledge production, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 toward a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.​
