​Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University has adopted a developmental approach for its programs to reach advanced levels of education by means of university investments fund and its own resources "Ethmar", which represents a typical model of the “Productive University” as one of the policies of reinventing funding resources of the university. It depends on marketing of services, consultations and innovative products, as well as entering scientific and consultation alliances with various sectors to find out new and additional resources of funding that are positively reflecting on development of academic research and improving the students’ deliverables and contribution to society. The coming Productive University Exhibition is only one of the arms for economic development.

Productive University Exhibition is considered as a new event of its kind. It goes in line with the national development plan of the kingdom and the general vision of the ministry of education as it effectuates role of the Productive University in educational facilities. This Exhibit in its turn embodies this vision by providing a market for different university products of all participating Saudi universities. In addition to polarization of all entities related to support of Productive University project in public-private sectors, financing bodies, innovation adoption bodies, bodies interested in purchase of innovations and consulting bodies in field of Productive University development.

Vision of the project looks forward to transferring it to an annual international gathering supporting the marketing of Productive Universities projects in gulf and Arab world and investing in students innovations and talents as well as educational services, researches and training in all participating universities. The ultimate goal for this project is encouraging competition among universities and creation of a real market for investment in the ignored products here and there as a result of unavailability of opportunities, support or appropriate sponsorship.
