As part of the efforts of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University to support and promote entrepreneurship at the university, which comes within the objectives of the university's strategic plan 2021 - 2025, emanating from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University signed a cooperation agreement with the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises "Monsha'at", represented by Her Excellency the Dean of the Deanship of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Sawsan bint Abdul Karim Al-Momen, while the second party "Monsha'at" was represented by His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Monsha'at for Entrepreneurship, Mr. Saud bin Khalid Al-Subhan, on Friday 10/3/2023, as part of the activities of the Beban23 Forum.
The agreement aims to provide various programs that encourage and promote entrepreneurship at the university, including launching initiatives to support and develop small and medium enterprises, spreading awareness of entrepreneurship, and enabling male and female students and university staff to transform their entrepreneurial ideas into existing projects, by benefiting from programs, incubators and business accelerators.
- Signing an agreement with Marketing Club Limited
Within the framework of the efforts of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, represented by the Deanship of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, to support and promote entrepreneurship at the university; which comes within the objectives of the university's strategic plan 2021 - 2025; emanating from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030; and in the presence of His Excellency the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamimi, Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University signed a cooperation agreement with the Marketing Club Limited Company, represented by Her Excellency the Dean of the Deanship of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Susan bint Abdul Karim Al-Momen, while the second party was represented by His Excellency the CEO of the company, Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Thaali, on Thursday 08/09/1444 AH corresponding to 03/30/2023 AD.
The agreement aims to cooperate and integrate in providing advisory solutions, spatial capabilities, and logistical support to entrepreneurs from both parties, in order to contribute to achieving the success of their entrepreneurial projects, and enabling them to activate their role in the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 for entrepreneurship.
- Signing an agreement with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual
On 04/07/1442 AH, a memorandum of cooperation and joint understanding agreement was signed between Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, represented by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al-Ameri, President of the University, and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, represented by His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Suwailem, CEO of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, in the presence of His Excellency the Dean of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Muhaimid, and His Excellency the Deputy for Innovation and Technology Transfer, Dr. Anas Al-Shaiban.
The agreement aims to enhance and support national innovation, and support and enrich local and Arab knowledge content on intellectual property topics.
- Signing an agreement with the General Authority of Zakat and Income
Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University signed a memorandum of cooperation with the General Authority of Zakat and Income on Sunday 2-3-1442 AH, at the Authority’s headquarters. This agreement aims to exchange expertise in areas of joint cooperation between the university and the Authority, which contributes to achieving the strategic goals of both parties, and contributing to achieving Vision 2030.
This agreement also aims to hold exhibitions, conferences, seminars and workshops, and exchange information between the two parties to benefit from it in conducting studies related to zakat and tax in a manner that does not conflict with the systems and regulations in force in the Kingdom, and to cooperate in establishing and developing academic programs specialized in zakat and tax, in addition to training courses related to this field, programs for employing distinguished graduates, and cooperative training programs.
- Signing an agreement with the Entrepreneurship
In the context of embodying the relationship with Saudi universities and scientific associations, His Excellency the Dean of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Muhaimid, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Entrepreneurship Association. This cooperation is represented in implementing several activities to spread the culture of entrepreneurship and holding international entrepreneurship license courses and other activities that aim to build and develop positive trends towards establishing small projects in various fields and strengthening channels of strategic partnership between institutions for qualifying, financing and incubating small projects, which contributes to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Responsibilities of the Scientific Research Committee:
a) Head of the Committee:
Arrange meetings with the respective members and write minutes of meetings/reports i.e. actions taken, actions planned, status of assigned tasks, etc.
Prepare and maintain a proper record (hard and/or soft copies) of all the relevant documents.
Coordinate and provide required documents to other committees, focus groups, program coordinator or chairman, when necessary.
b) General Responsibilities:
1- Develop ways and techniques to improve research motivation and activities in the department.
1. Organize conferences/training sessions and invite guest speakers.
2. Research collaboration with other universities/industry.
3. Initiate student chapters (e.g. SCE, ASCE, ACE, etc.).
4. Circulate information (e.g. list, forms, requirements, etc.) about organizations which provide research funds/support.
5. Circulate information of various scientific knowledge resources (online access to textbooks, research articles, etc.).
6. Deliver lectures to the faculty members regarding matters related to research.
2- Review Graduation Project Topics and Syllabus to meet the program accreditation requirements.
3- Provide consultation to students to present their graduation projects / research papers at national/international forums.
4- Review civil engineering faculty members’ applications for promotion.
Dr. Al-Alam Chairs Preparatory Meeting of MOU with Housing Ministry
On the recent days, Dr. Mohammad Saeed Al-Alam, Vice-Rector of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University for Knowledge Exchange and International Collaboration, has chaired at the university campus here a meeting of the joint committee between Imam University and Saudi Housing Ministry for preparing the Memorandum of Understanding "MOU" between the both parties.
Speaking about the proposed MOU, Dr. Al-Alam has reaffirmed the importance of such agreements between the governmental agencies, especially in the availability of researchers and experts from the university.
In significance with the meeting's agendas, the members of the joint committee were discussed benefiting from the Saudi Real Estate Institute and employing the university's research and training capabilities to leverage the institute in all areas. The meeting was also addressed the possibility to take the advantages of the female and male students of the university, particularly in the regulations and entrepreneurship areas.
In a similar vein, the meeting was focused on benefiting from the university's media capabilities and to what extent it would be useful in circulating the Saudi Housing Ministry vision and strategic plans, especially with the technical and media experiences of the university in this field.
Lastly, the meeting was agreed on benefiting from the experience of the university in the international collaboration and understanding frameworks through studying identical international modules.
Academic Research Deanship Organises Enriched Symposium
Deanship of Academic Research of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, in collaboration with Research Unit of College of Sharia and Islamic Studies – El-Ahsa, has organized lastly a symposium entitled “Culture of Knowledge and Academic Exchange at Saudi Universities” in the presence of Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Muzini, Dean of the College, and a number of the college’s dignitaries.
The symposium, which was started with a word of Dr. Abdul-Latif Al-Hussain, Professor of Culture at Sharia Department, where he focused on the development of the education, in general, and the university education, in particular, has attended by a number of the faculty staff members and interested persons.
In continuous with the word of Dr. Abdul-Latif, he addressed the aspects of the knowledge and science tools at Saudi universities, and particularly he clarified two of them, the first was the care about the knowledge capabilities of the faculty staff members and the other was the care about the strategies of the academic research at the universities. He, additionally, spoke about a number of recommendations including creating of a high-quality educational system working on developing the university community and the informatics community of the university. Moreover, to increase the knowledge awareness and spread the culture of knowledge exchange throughout encouraging the interchangeable visits between the researchers and students of the Saudi academic research centres.
Sheikh Al-Sudais Hails Al-Imam Academic Research Efforts
Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, President of Al-Haramain Affairs Presidency, has received at his office at Makkah Prof. Dr. Fahd Al-Asker, Vice-Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University for Higher Studies and Academic Research, who doubles as Vice-President of Research Chair Program.
In significance with the meeting, both parties were discussed deeply the collaboration bonds, through Al-Haramain Research Chair, which launched recently. Sheikh Dr. Al-Sudais has commended the efforts of Al-Imam University to enhance the positive initiatives that support the academic research areas.
From his side, Dr. Al-Asker has thanked Sheikh Dr. Al-Sudais for his keenness and care towards Al-Haramain Research Chair. At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Dr. Al-Sudais has presented a souvenir to Dr. Al-Asker.

Dr. Al-Alam Presides IUT Governing Board Meeting
Recently, Dr. Muhammad Said Al-Alam, Vice-Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University for Knowledge Exchange and International Collaboration, and Chairman of the Governing Board of Islamic University of Technology (IUT), a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has presided the 41st regular meeting of the board at Dhaka, People's Republic of Bangladesh.
In significance with the meeting, Dr. Al-Alam clarified that, the Board deliberated on many issues including the budget for the Fiscal Year 2017, opening faculties, launching new department and programmes. The Board expressed its deep appreciation and gratitude to the government of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for continued patronage and support of the university.
“Saudi Arabian Kingdom is exerting each and every possible effort to strengthen its bilateral relationships and collaboration with all Islamic countries”, reaffirmed he.
