What the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is doing, in light of the interest of the wise leadership, in terms of developing university education and providing the people of the country with the expertise and cognitive skills to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, is worthy of us, the faculty members of the Department of Chemical Engineering, exerting sufficient effort to develop our students in refining their talents and providing them with the necessary knowledge in various fields of Chemical Engineering science.
The specialty of a chemical engineer is depending on the use of modern techniques and advanced technology to develop basic industries that based on petroleum products and its derivatives. The chemical engineer also works and on the innovation and manufacture of consumer materials such as plastic products and heavy polymers as well as the manufacture of infrastructure materials such as cement and steel products.
For this reason, a comprehensive study plan was developed for the basic sciences in chemical engineering, design sciences, and industrial simulation, in addition to the presence of many study subjects in multiple research fields, such as biochemical engineering, membrane technology, and treatment of air and water pollution.
In addition to teaching chemical engineering curricula, the department’s faculty members participate in distinguished scientific research that touches the needs of the local community and achieves the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which reflects the university’s identity in the fields of energy, industry, and environmental sustainability.
