Under the patronage of His Excellency the University President, the international conference “The Interrelationship between Social Sciences, Humanities and Digital Technologies” was launched at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University.

Under the patronage of His Excellency the President of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, the virtual international conference “The Interrelationship between Social Sciences, Humanities and Digital Technologies” was launched this morning, Monday, November 24, 2025, with the participation of 42 researchers and 8 sessions extending until tomorrow, Tuesday, via the Webex platform.


The conference began with a speech by His Excellency the President of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Professor Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amri, who welcomed the participants, stressing that the convening of the conference “The Mutual Impact between Social and Human Sciences and Digital Technologies” comes as an extension of the university’s approach to promoting integration between human sciences and modern technologies, and activating the role of scientific research in serving human values ​​and national development, stressing the importance of directing digital technologies in a way that supports knowledge, preserves identity and enhances societal awareness.

In his opening remarks, His Excellency pointed out that the university, with the support of the wise leadership - may God protect it - has launched research and academic initiatives and programs concerned with digital transformation, artificial intelligence and their cultural and social dimensions, to be a leading platform for scientific dialogue and knowledge exchange, and to contribute to building a more conscious and humane sustainable future.


His Excellency also expressed his gratitude to the participants and working committees, appreciating their efforts in making the conference a success and hoping that its outcomes will contribute to the development of human knowledge and enhance its societal impact.

Then the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, Professor Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Asiri, delivered a speech in which he reviewed the themes of the conference and its scientific schedule, pointing out that the conference embodies its philosophy based on employing technology in supporting scientific research.


Dr. Al-Asiri said that the conference aims to highlight the impact of digital transformations on the development of social and human sciences, review scientific experiences in employing artificial intelligence and big data, and discuss ethical challenges and the future of integration between humans and technology.


Dr. Al-Asiri explained that the conference received submissions from Arab, Asian, European and the United States of America, and forty scientific papers were approved after being reviewed according to precise scientific standards, distributed over eight sessions held over two days, discussing topics of identity, childhood, heritage, social behavior, digital ethics and future trends in the use of technology.


In closing, the Chairman of the Scientific Committee expressed his gratitude to the President of the University, its Vice Presidents, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, the scientific and organizing committees, and the participating researchers, praising their efforts in making the conference a success and enriching its scientific outputs.


Following that, the first scientific sessions of the conference began, which discussed “National achievements in employing digital technologies in the social and human sciences.”
