About Department
The Department of Biology in the College of Science was established in the first semester of the university year 1437/1438 H. The Department currently offers Bachelor degree of Science in Biology for male and female students. The department is staffed by a selection of faculty members representing various schools in disciplines and expertise, which contributes to enriching the scientific courses offered by the department to students in key biology fields such as animal, plant, microbiology, inheritance and the environment.
In addition, there are a series of laboratories covering these disciplines, which are equipped with the necessary equipment, that are constantly updated in order to harmonize students' modern theoretical sciences with appropriate laboratory training.
The Department of Biology is tasked with rehabilitating graduates to become active members of comprehensive national development and enable competitive in many government locations and sectors, such as the Ministries of Education, Health, Agriculture, Water and Electricity, the Standards Metrology and Quality Organization, The National Authority for the Protection and Development of wildlife, General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection, as and many private sector institutions.

Providing qualitative contributions to education, practice, and life science research, offering developed supportive environment for research under faculty supervision, and depend on student-centered education based on critical, scientific, and empirical thinking and practical experience using recent experimental techniques and devices, and preparing highly competitive students for future biological science-related occupations for requirements of society and local, national and world needs.
